Get ready for more balance in The Vampire Diaries Season 5. Executive producer Julie Plec tells TV Guide that Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Katherine (Nina Dobrev) will be switching roles a bit.
"One thing we're looking forward to so much next season is Elena on her own as a vampire and living her new life in college," says Julie. "And to see a vulnerable Katherine, who is able to be hurt and able to be killed and in need of the protection much like the first Elena we met four years ago."

Julie promises the reversal — a stronger, more independent Elena and a weaker Katherine — will be fun to watch.

After all the horrible things Katherine has done, it will be interesting to see who steps up to help the new human. We’d say Stefan (Paul Wesley), but he’ll be locked up for a bit. Maybe Damon (Ian Somerhalder) will show some mercy?

Then again, Julie teased to TVLine that not everyone will be forgiving. “Absolutely nothing is going to stop everyone from trying to kill her,” Julie explained. “That’s what puts her in a pickle that is going to have her seeking out protection from unlikely sources.”

Prepare-se para mais equilíbrio em The Vampire Diaries Season 5. Produtora executiva Julie Plec diz TV Guide que Elena (Nina Dobrev) e Katherine (Nina Dobrev) vão ser trocando papéis um pouco.
"Uma coisa que nós estamos olhando para a frente assim muito próxima temporada é Elena sozinha, como um vampiro e viver sua nova vida na faculdade,", diz Julie. "E ver uma Katherine vulnerável, que é capaz de ser ferido e capaz de ser morto e que precisam de proteção, bem como a Elena primeiro conhecemos há quatro anos."

Julie promete a reversão — uma Elena mais forte, mais independente e uma mais fraca Katherine — vai ser divertido de assistir.

Depois de todas as coisas horríveis que Katherine tem feito, é interessante ver que os passos para ajudar o novo ser humano. Nós diríamos Stefan (Paul Wesley), mas ele vai ser bloqueado até um pouco. Talvez o Damon (Ian Somerhalder) irá mostrar alguma misericórdia?

Então, novamente, Julie esmiuçadas ao TVLine que nem todo mundo vai ser indulgente. "Absolutamente nada vai parar todos tentando matá-la", explicou Julie. "Isso é o que coloca-la em uma salmoura que vai ter a sua busca de proteção de fontes improváveis."
